Day 1 . . . Scott Update . . .

Yesterday I posted about participating in the Ultimate Blog Challenge.  It's Day 1, so I DEFINITELY have to do this one.  If I can't do ONE day, how do I think I can do THIRTY-ONE?!?!?  :)

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about my brother and the incredible journey he is taking.  If you didn't see that post, you can read it HERE.  Be sure to check it out.  It's an amazing story about an even more amazing guy.

Scott has been gone for 2 weeks now.  And he's doing great!  He sends texts every few days giving us an update.  He is ready to come home, I think he's homesick, but every update states how happy he is to be there.  He's not in as much pain as he was the first week.  He said muscles that he didn't even know he HAD, ache.  But they ache less every day.  So that's definitely a good sign.  I don't know how much weight he's lost.  I'm not even sure HE knows how much weight he's lost.  But he says he can tell a difference in his clothes and his energy level.  He told my dad he is in a smaller belt and he is on the 3rd loop.  Pretty cool.

You know, it's funny.  Scott and I don't see each other every day.  Hell, we don't even talk or text every day.  But I always know he's there.  Just around the corner.  Twenty minutes away.  Only now, he's not.  Now he's hours and hundreds of miles away.  And that's hard.   And I miss him.  A LOT.  But I am SO proud of him for taking on this unbelievably hard task, and I can't wait to see him when he gets back.  NOT because he'll have lost all this weight, because I've ALWAYS loved him, just the way he is.  But because he's my brother.  And I miss him.  DESPERATELY.

Just read the original post and that's so amazing. Your brother is blessed to have such amazing people in his life who care for him. It's so hard to come across people like that who genuinely care for others and want 'good' for them.

Can't wait to know more about your brothers journey and reading the rest of your posts during the challenge.
