It is daunting, no doubt, but I think that Heather is right in saying that it's about making a lifestyle change. Focusing on a big picture may be overwhelming but may be taking one step at a time may make it more doable? Or finding ways to fit more physical activity into your daily life i.e. 10 minutes here and there versus trying to find a hour block of time. I don't know if that's helpful or not but I too hope that you are able to find some peace. I spend a lot of time wish...I can somewhat relate. I spend a lot of time wishing I was naturally thin or blessed with a fast metabolism instead of one of those people who has to constantly work at either losing or maintaining her weight. <br /><br />I've finally had to accept that I will never be naturally thin. For the rest of my life, I will always have to be careful with what I eat.<br /><br />Last year, I took off 35 pounds with lots of hard work and dedication. But I got lazy and put back on at least 20 pounds. And that's when I realized that this is going to be a lifelong cycle for me if I think I can just eat whatever I want and have it not affect me.<br /><br />I need to finally get things in check, take the weight off and keep it off...for good. <br /><br />I joined a site called My Fitness Plan and everyone there has been super encouraging. There are people of all shapes and sizes....no judgement, no worries about not fitting in. <br /><br />Also, it might help if you think of your weight loss goals in small increments. 5 pounds is great!!!! 5 pounds is something!!! Heck, even a 1 pound loss is huge!! Don't think of the big number....think of it in 5 pound increments if you have to. And when you lose those 5 pounds, celebrate it. Treat yourself to a pedicure or buy yourself a new pair of earrings...something that will make you feel good about yourself.<br /><br />Because you deserve to feel good about yourself.
